Resume
Some Basics to Keep in Mind
OWN CONTRIBUTION
In general, you should not borrow more than the amount which you yourself have invested in the enterprise.
THE MATCHING PRINCIPLE
The repayment term of the loan should match the life expectancy of the assets which are financed by the proceeds of the loan.
A common pitfall is to finance long-term assets, like land and buildings, with short-term finance, like an overdraft facility.
NETT CURRENT ASSETS
The value of current assets should always exceed the value of current liabilities.
CASH FLOW
The cash resources of the enterprise should always be adequate to meet its commitments.
