Stemming the river of darkness

This booklet describes one of the most comprehensive and far reaching international efforts ever undertaken to conquer a disease and thereby open the road to economic development in a given area. This disease is called onchocerciasis (river blind-ness, and the afflicted area includes several nations in and around the Volta river basin in West Africa.
